Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Totman Gulf is a scenic haven for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails and natural beauty in Adams, NY. This park features a short, easy-to-navigate trail that leads to a picturesque waterfall, making it an ideal destination for dog-friendly hiking and relaxing summer outings. The trail, while a bit tricky in spots, is manageable for most visitors and offers a unique experience alongside the gorgeous gorge and stream.
One of the highlights for canine companions and their humans is the inviting swimming holes near the waterfall, where your pet can cool off during hot days. Although Totman Gulf does not have a formal fenced dog area, its natural setting, clean grounds, and limited but handy roadside parking make it a favorite local spot for exploring nature with your dog. Plan ahead for bugs in summer and arrive early on weekends to beat the crowds!
It’s just a beautiful place to be.
Beautiful small fall. Thousands of cool sandstone and shale pebbles. Out and back trail of maybe one fourth a mile. Trail is easy but tricky at times so if you have balance problems bring a walking stick. Small parking spot on the side of the roadway for maybe 3 vehicles.
The trail to the waterfall is a really cute and very, very short trail. It was like 5-10 minutes max. It’s downhill to the waterfall but not very steep.
According to the map there is a second trail that leads off in the opposite direction but we did not follow it this time as we were chased away by bugs. Definitely plan on going back with more bug spray to explore this trail as well.
We parked right by the trailhead where there are a few spaces. There is more parking before the road turns into a dirt road.
Great place to walk and enjoy some nature. The gorge is amazing and has some nice swimming holes for those hot summer days. It does get busy in the summer so if you dont like crowds, keep that in mind. The trail to get down to the stream and gorge is easy to walk down and there is a really nice waterfall that will be there to enjoy
Super clean and beautiful spot to swim and relax with family! Little bit of a hike but nothing my 3yo. Couldn’t handle.
