Absolutely a must do for kids. The animals are widely available and while there aren’t tons it gives the kiddos a gun afternoon of watching the cows eat and moo, the pigs run around and the sheep/goats wandering about. When the staff is out and about they always take time to talk to the kids and answer questions. Wide paths make it easy to navigate if you are out with your dog too.

Super pretty walk. 2hrs of enjoyment. Pumpkin ash trail starts in the forest, then marsh with bridges to beach cliff on the Potomac.

The Accokeek Foundation is fantastic! They hold wonderful events like Lattes with Lambs and Winter’s Eve. There’s plenty to do and see here both for history buffs and nature fanatics.

Found a place on the water off of the path to the farm. It was secluded and wonderful!

This is a great historical farm and hiking area that focuses not only on the community and education of history, plants, soil, animals; but also has great water views and fairy trails! Fun all around and dog and kid friendly. For those who do not like to/can not walk far, part of the path is wheelchair/stroller friendly and there is plenty of seating in the picnic area.
