The only 1 thing I would ask is the large dogs get a bigger water holding supply so they don’t need a refill every 5 seconds. I bring a large metal trough when I go.

Plenty of trees, large open spaces for frisbee/balls. Nice shaded seating area.

Happy with this k9 park.

Has the dual gate locking system for entry/ exit.

My three “girls” had a blast running on the nice green grass, meeting new doggie friends and splashing in the little wadding pools afterwards. There was a drinking fountain and lots of people benches. The park is clean. Poop bags are provided at the entrance so make sure you grab one on the way in. Let’s all appreciate such a great space to bring our fur babies and keep it clean!

Its big and spacious with plenty of benches, and a covered seating area. It does need another one or two poop stations like the old dog park had. And there are two mudholes. Also someone has put two swimming pools at the front. Not needed. It has a rinse area with hose and cement drain to cool or rinse the dogs down. No need for the pools, the area becomes just another mud hole.

Camp Barkley is awesome! The City of Abilene has done a great job! This place is fabulous! Very large play areas, separate ones for large and small dogs. Both sides had a baby pool and access to water. Lots of trees, covered pavilions, and restrooms. Highly recommend!

The park itself is beautiful and we love coming here, however the past few times there is an older gentlemen with a large white dog in the small dog park. The dog is always way too rough with the other small ones, not to mention way to big to be in the 25lbs or less side. It just frustrates me that Abilene invest in something nice but people still can’t follow simple rules to help keep everyone safe and having fun. The worst/ironic thing is that we have went other times and other random people have warned us about the same guy and the dog!!
