🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Ivyhill Park is a hidden gem nestled in Aberdeen Township, New Jersey, offering neighborhood charm and a variety of amenities for families and pet owners. The park features two distinct playgrounds—one for toddlers and another for young children—making it an ideal spot if you’re looking for a dog-friendly park with activities for kids nearby. The wide open field beside the play area offers plenty of space for dogs to roam (with a leash), while children can enjoy the playground and a unique concrete slide. Benches and a picnic table provide convenient seating, and trash cans are available for easy cleanup.
While not a dedicated off-leash dog park, Ivyhill Park welcomes leashed dogs to enjoy its open spaces and pet-friendly atmosphere. Keep in mind that street parking is the only option, and there are no restroom facilities, so plan your visit accordingly. The park’s peaceful setting, scenic hill, and friendly local vibe make it a favorite spot for residents and their canine companions seeking a relaxing day outdoors.
Peaceful, nice area, it was fun for my baby girl. The only thing is no parking, would have to park on the road, and it can be crazy with how people drive through there. There are no restrooms as well.

A hidden treasure! My toddler loves Ivyhill Park Playground. On-site are two playground sets, one for toddlers, one for young children. Additionally, there is a swingset with 2 open seat swings and 2 enclosed “basket” seats for younger kiddies. Up a slight hill, there is a small, wide *concrete* slide. Recommend close supervision of children on this slide. Beside the playground sets & swings are a couple of benches and one picnic table. Trash cans on site. No restrooms. Street parking only (on a corner). Wide open field beside the play area is a moderately steep hill. My son loved using his glider plane here but imagine that soccer balls, etc., would roll towards the street.
My 5 y/o loves all the play options here!
