Located in Aberdeen Township, the Henry Hudson Trail Highland offers an accessible dog-friendly hiking experience near the coast. This scenic trail is popular with locals for its picturesque views, pet-friendly environment, and peaceful ambiance. The trail is ideal for long walks with your furry companions, beachcombing, and enjoying sunrises or moonrises. While the area does not have typical dog park fenced areas, it provides a great open space for leashed walks and gentle outdoor adventures with your pup.
There is a small parking area at 20 Gerard Ave, but note that the northern parking lot is prone to flooding during high tide. Although the park is generally clean and safe, there are warnings about lead contamination on parts of the beach, so it’s best to use caution and be mindful of posted signs. The park doesn’t offer facilities like restrooms or designated play zones, but it is a peaceful retreat perfect for those seeking a more natural setting with their dog along a pet-friendly New Jersey trail.
