River Oaks Dog Park is a popular dog-friendly destination located at 100 River Oaks Point in Moorhead, Minnesota. Nestled alongside the river, this park offers a peaceful and scenic escape within city limits, making it ideal for dog owners seeking outdoor adventures near home. Visitors love the park’s beautiful natural setting, which features picturesque river views and ample green space for both pets and their owners to explore.
This dog park is celebrated for its relaxed atmosphere and walking opportunities along the riverbank. While it provides picnic tables and welcomes dogs, some reviews do mention concerns about burrs in the grassy areas—so it’s a good idea to check your dog’s fur after playtime. Easily accessible, River Oaks also features a unique tear drop driveway, offering an interesting parking experience with plenty of space for pets to get some exercise before even entering the main area.
This park is infested with burrs that get into dogs’ hair and are very difficult to clear. Clean the park before you advertise it as a friendly dog park.
This is so peaceful and beautiful in city limits. It’s so nice to have so close to home. Great walking distance escape.
This is my favorite local park to walk the river. There were coyotes on the other bank on the North side today singing the song of their people.
Very nice new dog park. Used to be an open green park and was able to be used for other uses as well. The dog park takes up the majority of the large park area.
Cool dam on the river and with the water pretty low this year the rocks are more visible. It looks like there may be an access on the ND side but not 100% sure.
River Oaks Dog Park has a tear drop drive way which made it a little complicated for parking but not impossible. The driveway is long which gave the girls plenty of room to exercise. We’ve never seen squirrels that big before. And, as we were walking along the bank I just happened to see a deer. It’s nice to be able to take in all this nature especially at a dog park.
