Overton Mountain Bike Trails, located on Mill Rd in Coram, New York, is a fantastic spot for outdoor enthusiasts looking for pet-friendly adventures. Known for its well-maintained trail system, the park offers a network of hiking and biking paths that wind through scenic terrain. Dog owners will appreciate the dog-friendly hiking opportunities here—many visitors bring their dogs to enjoy winding trails and the sights and sounds of nature. The trails vary in difficulty from easy to extra challenging, making this a versatile spot for various fitness levels.
While Overton does not have a designated fenced dog park area, it offers miles of pet-friendly trails for leashed exploration. The park is less crowded than nearby Glacier Ridge, making it a peaceful choice for those seeking quiet time with their dogs. Wildlife sightings, like deer, add to the natural charm, though visitors should be aware of ticks and occasional gnats, especially in late summer. With parking available nearby and connections to other popular trails, Overton is a convenient and enjoyable destination for dog owners in Coram and the surrounding Long Island area.
I prefer Glacier Ridge if I were to just ride one of the trails, but if I’m looking for a long ride I’ll add on Overton. It’s much less travelled than GR and the trails are not as clearly marked – but that’s half the fun. As all CLIMB trails, it’s well maintained and cared for
Nice trail system that connects to Glacier Ridge
Went on Monday for a hike. Saw only two bikers. It was a good and easy hike for about 2 hours. There was one portion of the trail where there is a very bad stench. May be it was coming from the construction nearby.
The trail marks are not really helpful but it’s not big enough to get lost. Saw a couple of deers on our way back.
It’s perfect for mountain biking. But hiking was okay on weekday.
A must try, Definitely Fun 🟦 trail, may be a bit tough for beginners but still good workout.
Definitely will try and will be coming back again.

I hiked the trail with my dog. The bicyclists were friendly, even though I was on THEIR trail. I liked the little ups and downs on the narrow, windy trails. The gnats were somewhat bothersome (August), and my dog came home with tick larvae, probably because we walked in the grass when we went off the bike trails.
