Carpenter Farm Park offers dog owners and families a quiet escape into scenic open farmland right in Huntington, New York. This pet-friendly park is known for its open fields and walking paths that wind through historic, overgrown meadows and old apple trees. It’s a popular spot for those seeking relaxed dog-friendly hiking and peaceful strolls surrounded by wildflowers and the occasional wildlife sighting, such as rabbits.
The park is a great option for families, as it’s child-friendly and provides a calm place for a walk or a short hike. Though there have been reports of overgrown areas and thorny vines in the past, recent improvements have made the paths more maintained and enjoyable for visitors. While there’s no fenced dog run or elaborate amenities, Carpenter Farm Park stands out as a serene location for pet owners looking to walk their dogs on-leash and stretch their legs in a rustic, natural setting.
Nice field surrounded by a path, great for walking dog around…but I’m one that scoops his poops
Very nice place for a couple to go for a quiet walk and kids could enjoy it as well it’s just the nice part that you could walk around and stretch those legs
Disgraceful. Not maintained. There was no trail. All overgrown. Could not enter.
Good to be able to take a short hike through an overgrown farm meadowland with wildflowers and the occasional rabbit. But beware the copious poison ivy, and the narrow path of thorny raspberry vines, which should probably be pruned back. UPDATED: Someone must have heard my complaint, because the paths are now very nicely tended and much easier to walk through.
Small, quiet, historical open farmland now overgrown within old apple trees.
