McCarren Park Dog Run, conveniently located near North 12th Street & Driggs Avenue in Brooklyn, NY, is one of the largest and most beloved dog parks in the area. Offering plenty of space for dogs to run, play, and socialize, this dog park is a favorite spot for local pet owners seeking a vibrant and dog-friendly community atmosphere. With a scenic background and easy accessibility, it’s a welcoming destination for dog lovers and families alike.
The park features a roomy off-leash area within the larger McCarren Park, giving your canine companion the freedom to explore safely. Early risers often enjoy letting their dogs go off-leash before 9am. The ground is covered with hay for improved cleanliness, making it less muddy after rain. Although the dog run does not appear to have water fountains, trash bins, or designated seating inside, the broader park has plenty of shaded areas, seating, and nearby amenities such as restaurants, a farmer’s market, and accessible paths, making it a great place for both dogs and their humans.
I really like to come to that park, one of the biggest i have to say. A lot of space for dogs to run and play. The dog run is in the park, and if you come before 9am, you can let them go free, its cool. Now they putted some hay on the ground and it looks good and not muddy. Always coming there.
Been coming to this park as a kid and seen it changed for back in the 70’s till now wow even my kids loved coming here and they all grown up with there own kids
The play area is very spacious. My pup definitely loves it! But there is no water fountain, trash bin, or designated seating areas for humans. Close to farmers market and restaurants. Will definitely come back.
Nice park for lots of different activities. A lot of areas to sit and chill, and there is a restaurant there too! Love watching the people, animals and plants 🙂
