This dog run is very well done. The attention to detail for both the dog and human experience is greatly appreciated. Love the water element, which is super clever! Some dogs loved it to cool off in which was rather hilarious to watch. It really is exceptionally executed.

Great park and was recently renovated and a decent size place for dogs to play. Trash cans and dog bags are provided as well as clear running water. It’s never been too crowded which is a plus.

As this is a review for the park only, some issues are that careless owners don’t respect the dog door airlock and both can be opened at once and sometimes non dog owners will open the door incorrectly. Another issue is the drain for the little river can get clogged so someone needs to take the leaves out, you can just use a stick or just use a dog bag if you don’t want hands wet.

I used to frequent this dog park but after my experience today, I am hesitant to go back. I recognize that there are many types of dog owners but believe that what we share is a love for dogs.

As I was leaving the small dog park today, an elderly gentleman opened the other gate at the same time as me. I shared that I don’t think it’s a good idea for both gates to be open at the same time, as dictated by the rules of the dog run. He responded in a very rude manner, then proceeded to walk past me, not closing either gate behind him.

I would just be careful as I fear that this occurs more often than I think.

Recently went to a Golden Retrievers of New York meet up here. It was so lovely. Had the cutest dog fountain that was continuously running so it made me feel better letting my dog drink from it. Sure, it smelled like pee but that’s par for the course. Lots of seating and plenty of room for floofs to be floofing.

First time checking out this dog run with my pup. It’s easy to find once you step into Madison Square Park. Love how it’s separated by small and all dogs, and it has turf. It was pretty crowded on a Sunday afternoon but still space for the doggos to run around. It has a small hill where dogs can go up and down on. Only downfall is that owners don’t pay attention to their pups, so when they go poop, they don’t realize and it just sits there. Luckily, we help each other out so it does get picked up eventually since no one wants their dog to step on it or eat it. Definitely will be back with my pup since she had a great time there!
