Located within beautiful Forest Park, the Forest Park Barking Lot offers a spacious environment for dog owners in Kew Gardens, NY to exercise and socialize their pets. This pet-friendly dog park features separate areas for small and large dogs, giving pups of all sizes a secure place to play. Dog-friendly trails surround the park, making it easy to pair your visit with a scenic hike. Wheelchair-accessible entrances and paths ensure everyone can enjoy the facility.
The large dog area is especially roomy and provides much-needed shade, while the small dog section may lack shade, so plan accordingly. Water is available by hose, but there is no fountain, and the ground is primarily dirt which can become muddy near watering spots. With a playground and public restroom nearby, it’s also a good spot for families. Dogs and owners alike benefit from the friendly atmosphere and the variety of nearby amenities in Forest Park.

After moving from Oceanside area to Forest Hills, I realize turf is better than dirt. Watering areas get extremely muddy and the toys/tennis balls get gross. However, it’s a decent size and my dog still loves it. Walk your dog around before letting them in your car because they will tread dirt.
Wonderful place to pass your time or exercise.. Long way walk.. Soothing environment
While spacious, the small dog area has absolutely no shady area for dogs or their humans. The large dog area is quite roomy and shady. The play area on both sides is dirt and the slightest breeze blows the dirt dust around. There is a water hose but no fountain as in many other dog runs I’ve been to. If you come by car there doesn’t seem to be any parking area nearby except on street which is strange for such a large park.
Friendly dog parents. Grass near gate needs to be cut to prevent dogs from eating. Easy access to playground sprinkler to cool off quickly
