Great to go here for the Rockville center fireworks. You can see all the fireworks and hear the music that’s being played from the site. What makes it better is we dont get clouded with the firework smoke and not be crowded. I went today 7/13/19 and there was only about 30 people there. Wasn’t sure if I should give up this once little spot but I hear every year they run out of space for people to watch and they have to find somewhere else to go and many of the other places don’t give you a full view like this place does. I’d suggest trying it out next year. I believe Rockville Center does fireworks the following weekend after the 4th of July every year but you can always check online for 4th of July events. Hope this helps some people!
great park with beautiful Nature trails on the lake/ picnic area. Sports fields for residents only. Water fountains are broken toilets only open when baseball fields open. NO parking except residents of Rockville Center in park proper. If not resident you can park on street next to Nassau st and Maine Ave entrances.
I’m not sure about the experiences of the people who posted 5 stars. My experience here was not ideal. I took my infant for a walk through this park in the middle of the day during school hours and passed by some young teens smoking marijuana openly. Since then I have not been back. My impression of this park is that is attracts trouble. I’d rather travel to other parks.
