🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located along the scenic waterfront in Long Island City, NY, Hunter’s Point South Dog Run offers a clean, pet-friendly environment for both local residents and visitors. The park features separate areas for small and large dogs, ensuring safe socializing and play tailored to your pet’s needs. While the dog park is compact, it is well-maintained and boasts a unique cemented area with a hill-like structure that pups love to explore. Friendly regulars and welcoming owners make this park a gem in the neighborhood for dog lovers.
Accessibility is a key feature, with wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking. The park also provides a beautiful view of Manhattan, making it a perfect spot to relax while your dog enjoys some exercise. Although space can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, the positive atmosphere and the park’s cleanliness make it one of the most popular dog parks in Long Island City.
What more could you want than a green space with water flowing through it? It’s such a great park. The weather’s amazing today, and people are really making the most of the space. Just sitting by the river and chilling feels perfect.
We’ve visited this dog run a handful of times and my pup enjoys it. He’s small but prefers running around with the bigger dogs. People are friendly and we haven’t had any issues with any other dogs the times we’ve visited. He also doesn’t like turf so the concrete is a plus for him.
As a resident of the Court Square LIC area, I frequently bring my dog to this wonderful dog run – at least twice a week! The park is always clean and well-maintained, with separate areas for smaller and larger dogs to play in.
My dog, Evé, loves running around the hill-like structure and playing with the other friendly dogs in the park. The people here are also very friendly and welcoming, making it a great place to spend time.
While the park is a bit small, the incredible Manhattan view more than makes up for it. Overall, I highly recommend this dog park to anyone looking for a clean and fun place for their furry friends to enjoy.
Can’t wait to bring my dog here! Nice dog park on the edge of the waterfront. Seeing all the happy puppies was a delight. Everyone seemed nice and respectful too. It’s such a nice park and clean as well! I can’t wait to bring my dog here and check it out. What a gem for the area! 🐕 🐩 🐶
There is a small dog area and a larger dog area…The park itself is kind of small for the amount of dogs and owners that go here. Space fills up quickly to an almost uncomfortable level. Make sure your dog is trained well. Overheard a-lot of growls, barks and yelps one more than a few visits. Also the entire place is cemented with a big hill in the middle of it. Watch your puppies paws for scrapes and cracking from running and sometimes falling down the hill. The creator of the run should have made the entire area for large dogs and another barely used area around the park for the smaller dogs.
