Nice park area with access to the river. Our group uses it every year for our trip on the river. Never have any issues always clean with a good amount of parking.
Ĺoading/unloading area for kayaks a d canoes is good. Not too steep. You need to park up a hill after drop off. Need MI passport a d US Forest Service fee required.
The access is nice. There is adequate parking, pit toilets, and room to load & unload boats and gear. .maintained well. Fee to park (NULL). But the river permit fees to use this place for access are something that only a government employee could dream up: You pay a NULL fee to reserve a NULL permit. You cannot reserve permits for more than one day for that NULL fee, but you can reserve up to 8 permits for that one day. Everyone I know of has complained. Nobody is interested in doing anything about it apparently. It’s things like this that give govt agencies the reputation that they aren’t capable of doing anything well, and are only interested in making their own jobs easier.

Low bridge has a few picnic tables and a great view. If you are Canoeing or Kayaking through the National Scenic section of the Pine River, this is where you want to get out. This is the last place you can get out of the Pine River in Michigan before you get to Tippy Dam Pond.
