It was a great park to lay on the beach and bring a family or dogs. But it is extremely rocky so I wouldn’t bring the elderly.

Very nice spot. My family visited this beach the morning/early afternoon before our drive back downstate. Perfect beach, small rocks, and water for our little one to play. There are two playground areas. The bathrooms are adequate – two stalls with toilets and a changing area with plenty of hooks and benches in the lady’s room. The bathrooms are near the parking lot. There are benches and at least one of them is a bench swing. There are also picnic tables on the lawn.
For those who want to know more about the water, this side of the bay is shallow everywhere – you can wade out past the buoys and it’s barely waist deep. The water is on the colder side (actually Lake Michigan is much warmer this time of year than the bays are) but very pleasant and refreshing and it’s not hard to get acclimated. There is a band of small rocks at the shoreline you have to painfully walk through before you reach the sandy bottom but for the most part beyond the shore it’s completely sandy; hardly any seaweed or large rocks. Tip: if you follow the deck that leads down to the water from the paved sidewalk, there is currently a break in the band of rocks there so trust that it’s there for a reason and save your feet!
Another review mentioned geese poop on the grass. I did see some but it was obvious and there wasn’t too much as many people were opting to sunbathe on the lawn.
Very nice park and facilities. Will be back again!

It was a nice spot to visit and walk a small portion of the beach. Easy parking and not to crowded when we visited.
