Reasonable park. Plenty of pavilions, it seems. Took a walk around it’s perimeter. Saw a trail or two. Noticed a beach. Lots of lake to view. Room to enjoy a relaxing day.
Oh I love this place it’s so beautiful here. There’s walking trails, beach, picnic benches, bathrooms and best of all views of the water!
Visited on a Tuesday afternoon. There are lots of parking options and parks. The beach area is AWESOME. The water was a nice temperature and shallow for kids. The sand was okay but was covered in bird poo, making it hard to find a place to sit, even with beach chairs, or make sand castles. I would have rated 5 stars if it had not been for the poo.
Restroom was very large, air-conditioned, and clean. There were private showers also.
Highly recommend!
What an Awesome place!! We hung out for the day. It was pretty busy with people having fun. Great views & waterfront. BTW it closes at dusk even though google says 10pm. A friendly cop let us know at 930
To fulfill my glowing US States visited, drove from Green Bay to Menominee, Michigan. So Michigan is now my 42nd State visited. Stopped by John Henes Park for a little stroll and few pics and the park was absolutely green and lush. The view of Lake Michigan is vast and serene. The lake appeared gloomy with a skyline of grayish silver where the sun tried forcefully to penetrate the cloud and the waves hummed and crashed the rocks.
The park’s entrance is one-way so you have to drive the loop through the entire park. There are many recreational opportunities such biking, fishing, picnicking, swimming, and walking. It was cloudy, few raindrops, and a little chilly for me, a Floridian (53 degrees) so I did not walk a lot but that did not deter me from admiring its beautiful nature.
