It was a quiet little spot with only one camper besides us!
Clean quiet and peaceful well worth the stop if your in the area, especially if your trying to do some kayaking or fishing.
Buddy and I took our kayaks out to paddle across the lake the other day (late April) and got a bit wet and cold, but we had fun and it’s a great place to go fishing or camping, or both!
Nice quiet campground, peaceful. The lake is great, and has a boat launch and dock for fishing. We heard wolves howling at night, and woke up to the sound of loons. Deer and rabbits and other wildlife around, so it’s a great Yooper experience. Fully stocked gas station in Sagola only ten miles away. The water is terrible – very rusty and cloudy. There isn’t even one garbage can for trash, and the outhouses don’t seem to be maintained often. The location is a good one, but could be better managed.
Extremely well maintained campground with a nice boat landing adjacent. Lake frontage near the boat landing looked swimmable, though I did not see an actual beach.
A hand pump behind the registration station provided very clear and good tasting water.
Just two sites were taken on the Tuesday afternoon in July when I stopped by. Visitors shouldn’t have any issue finding an open site. The entire campground is first-come, first-served.
