Beautiful dog friendly beach. It is not “off” leash, the day we were there it was not busy, we walked down the beach a way and I let them run and swim. There are quite a few stairs to get down to the beach, you are able to stop though and take a rest as you make your way up or down.
The parking area was pretty spacious. But the toilets were too disgusting to use and the trash that had been left on the ground around the trash cans had not been picked up the last time they emptied the trash cans. The stairs going down to the beach were real solid and in good shape.
Lovely stop especially heading north along the lake. Beautiful scenery and majestic views of the lake. Definitely worth a stop for the beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
Lovely beach. I went to the beach one day and ice from the lake was collecting on shore. A very pretty sight. And speaking of sights, there was a beaver swimming in the pools made by the ice and wandering. There was a storm the next day. I went back to the beach the following day and the ice was gone. I’m glad I got to see it when I did!
Great place to enjoy the true beauty of Lake Michigan!
Cute playground for the true kids at heart.
Location was perfect and would highly recommend to anyone who would love to take a quick stop to pause the business of life and to enjoy nature.
