Located at 36164 Festival Dr in the heart of Richmond, Richmond Parks & Recreation offers a beautiful, spacious environment perfect for families, pet owners, and outdoor enthusiasts. This well-maintained city park is wheelchair accessible, boasting plenty of open green space, a vibrant playground, baseball and basketball courts, and wide areas that make social distancing easy. Accessibility is highlighted by abundant handicap parking and a clean, public restroom facility.
Dog owners often visit Richmond Parks & Recreation for pet-friendly walking, but be aware that dogs must remain leashed and there is no dedicated fenced dog area. The trails and open spaces allow for enjoyable on-leash walks, and the park’s open layout means you can keep your pets comfortably in sight. While there are no specific amenities for dogs like water fountains, waste stations, or separate off-leash zones, visitors appreciate the family-friendly vibe, playgrounds, and picnic tables, making it a great spot for people and their pets to enjoy the outdoors together in Richmond.
This weekend’s festivities were well planned and a blast! Congrats to all the hard workers.
Chili cook off was soooo much fun. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend!
The park is very beautiful lots of room for kids to play they have a playground they have a ball field very clean
The park is clean with wide spaces and eaay for social distancing. Definitely a perk of the City of Richmond. Bathroom was clean and there was no typical dirty park bathroom smell. I appreciates that I could let the kids wonder and see them no matter where they were from a distance. I noticed a lot of handicap parking where I came into the park, that’s a definite plus. Great place to spend a little or a lot of time!
Very well cared for park. We love that the rec center hosts so many things for adults and kids alike. Our favorite is game day during the Richmond good old days. Nice place to watch the fireworks the weekend after labor day. There is a skate park, basketball court, sandbox, community pool and also a summer camp.
Nice park for the most part but way too many people allowing their dogs to roam/run off leash and not picking up after them. There’s not a park employee there to supervise or to clean up, which there shouldn’t need to be, so it’s a constant issue. Signs are posted but it doesn’t have any effect. If you’re dog doesn’t always get along with dogs running up to them unwanted, I wouldn’t suggest coming to this park to walk them. If/when bathrooms are open they aren’t the cleanest, thank you again to park patrons.
