Love this park! Clean and well maintained. There’s a playground, tennis courts, basketball, soccer and a walking path. There’s also a small hill to play on.
We always enjoy the wide open AND enclosed spaces provided!!! Gives Sarge the chance to run and play off leash. He REALLY enjoys running around in the enclosed tennis court when it’s accessible and (…of course…) not being used by others. The tennis court gets locked by Parks & Recreation during the late Fall/Winter/early Spring inclement weather season… Rightfully so. Tennis IS considered a seasonal pastime.
I CAN’T impress the importance of this sentiment enough:
I truly DO appreciate those Folks who respect the legal protections and social boundaries afforded to service dog teams… It means more to me than I can ever express for Folks to do what they KNOW is right even without being instructed.
Now if we could only educate the public more frequently and readily.
As a Public Service Announcement and quite probably more importantly to those who show gross indifference and CHOOSE to interfere with a service dog team, let it be known:
It IS A MISDEMEANOR in Michigan to harass a service dog team and is punishable by 90 days in jail and/or a NULL fine… Plus the victim can request Punitive Damages because as an adult, the offender should just have KNOWN better to DO what they did, let alone PUSH the issue when . (In other words, you can lose your SSI/SSD AND have a monetary judgement levied against you if you really wanna be a lowlife.)
Additionally, for general knowledge, a service dog is not REQUIRED to be on leash by law, as a leash can actually become a safety risk/danger to the dog or handler in regard to task performance… What IS required is that the dog be under control WITHOUT DELIBERATE INTERFERENCE from outside influence. Deliberate outside interference can cause the dog to act in a manner inconsistent and contrary to their training and is considered a form of harassment. This can include but is NOT limited to: encroachment on the dog’s space that is considered reasonable for task performance, coaxing/calling the dog, touching the dog.

Cool park, walking trail. It has more than I expected but it is pretty wide open, just kind of goes on…we enjoyed.
Very nice little park, that is not very secluded right next to some houses. The whole structure felt sturdy and my little tested all the slides… has two different play zones. 1 for smaller kids,and another for bigger kids. My little one went on All the slides, we moved out of the way for bigger kids but we still got looks from the other parents and after we were their for about 20 mins everyone tricked out of their. But this isn’t a review about the park-goers so we won’t talk about that. Amazing park to go to
