Reviews

Awesome trail with great scenery! Pretty flat, but some subtle features make it really fun.

Went the week of Labor Day & this gem did not disappoint! Lots of great views between the lakes. Not too rugged & well maintained. Only snafu was crossing a road, about 3 miles in. The trail goes across & a sign points to the left. There is a trail directly there, which leads to nowhere. The real trail is about 50 yards further to the left & goes on the opposite side of the river. Not complaining, just informing. Its part of the journey. Great trail. Be safe friends.

Great ride through the woods with good views of several lakes. Easy ride and groomed trail. The trail overall is pretty flat with a few small rollers here and there.

Beautiful place to run.
The trail is a bit of a mess through the logging area and I did get off course for a spell, but found my way back to the main trail ok.
April 6, 2024, some stretches of snow left, but it’s crunchy and easy to run. I cleared the main trail of branches and whatever trees I could move, but there were 3 that want a saw and had to be scrambled over.
I like Pete’s Lake as the trailhead since when you’re done running you can go sit in the sun on the little grassy spot by the water and soak your feet while you eat your pb&j while you listen to the birds and watch the little fishies. Paradise. 10/10 recommend.

From the Moccasin Lake parking lot it’s an 11.9 loop (counter clockwise). At a 24-25 minute per mile pace it took us just under 5 hours to complete this hike. It’s relatively easy with well
marked, a debris free path. There are a few slight inclines and declines and a handful that are steeper but nothing like having to walk over boulders or big hills. I used the All Trails app and downloaded the map but it’s not accurate in a few spots indicating a path that is clearly off the well
marked trail.
We hiked this trail but it’s definitely an excellent trail for trail bikes although E bikes are not allowed.
Overall a wonderful, scenic trail worth the time.
