Discover Keleher Preserve, a hidden gem nestled just outside Voorheesville, New York, offering pet-friendly hiking and beautiful natural views. This preserve boasts approximately 6 miles of well-marked and well-maintained mountain biking and hiking trails suitable for both beginners and intermediate explorers. Dog owners will appreciate the peaceful woodland setting and scenic overlooks, including views of Albany, the Helderberg Range, and, on clear days, the distant Adirondacks and Mount Greylock.
While not a traditional fenced-in dog park, Keleher Preserve is a favorite for those seeking dog-friendly hiking in a tranquil environment just off the beaten track. Trails are varied, featuring some hills and occasional mud, so plan accordingly for you and your pet. Ample natural shade from the wooded landscape provides comfort for you and your canine companion as you enjoy some of the best hikes in the Helderhills region.
Definitely off the beaten track (since the road in is gravel, not paved). But easily reachable and very peaceful. The trails are well marked and the west white and orange trails we did were easy to moderate.
Nice hike in the woods. Hills make it a little challenging. Some mud. Some ticks. Overlook on red trail. Trail follows along steep drop-off here and there.
Wow. Really well maintained and well marked trails. Had a great 4 mile walk on the white trail with a quick side track to enjoy the lookout.
Perhaps the best hike in the Helderhills. The Escapement trail offers views of sMallbany 17+/- miles away and the eastern end of the Helderberg range Bennett, Copeland and Blodgett looking easterly towards the Hudson and beyond. On a good day you can observe The Adirondacks to the north as well as Mount Greylock in the Berkshires.
Nice little 6 ish miles of mountain biking trails that were easy to intermediate in difficulty. Lots of signs to help keep ya on the right trail.
