Kinns Road Park is a popular dog-friendly park located in the heart of Clifton Park, New York. Renowned for its scenic, pet-friendly trails that weave among tall trees and rolling hills, this local gem welcomes both dogs and their owners for year-round outdoor fun. The park offers a tranquil atmosphere, with a network of wide, clearly labeled trails that are ideal for dog walking, hiking, jogging, mountain biking, cross-country skiing in winter, and family-friendly outings.
This dog park in Clifton Park is unique due to its off-leash policy—dogs may be walked off-leash on the trails with a valid $30 annual permit per household. The park is well cared for, featuring picnic tables at the parking lot (with built-in BBQ stands), and a beautiful stream that adds to the park’s appeal. While there is no fenced dog area, responsible off-leash activity is permitted for permit holders, and the area is patrolled by Animal Control. Please carry out your trash to keep the park pristine. Shaded walking paths and plenty of open green space make this a favorite spot among locals for pet-friendly recreation.
I felt like I was somewhere else, like the redwood forest. What a beautiful trail! My family and two dogs loved it. Everyone we passed was very friendly. This will be our go to spot for a nice hike. The trails were clearly labeled and very clean.
Great off-leash dog park w/ permit. Without permit you are required to leave your dog on leash. Permits are NULL for the year per household and stipulate dogs must come when called and not chase other dogs. Park is patrolled by Animal Control. Very nice trail system that is open to multiple uses including groomed XC ski in the winter, running, walking, mountain biking and off-leash dog walking. Lots of short hills and dry paths. There is a stream in the park with year round flow. Anything less then consecutive days of rain or a half inch will stay pretty dry. I noticed someone mentioned mosquitoes but generally these aren’t a problem here as most of the park is elevated and dry. Ticks, however, are a problem.
Nice quiet place to walk amongst tall trees. Multiple little trails to choose from all contained in the little park. The path is wide. It can get muddy depending on when you go. Lots of mosquitos. It is a carry in and carry out type of park so plan accordingly. Good place to bring your dogs. Can be off leash on the trail.
Can’t complain I live beside the park, it is in my backyard. With the traffic that this park gets…. it is very popular with people with dogs and also who want to jog in the park as well. There is a parking lot along the Kinns road and has tables too for a picnic. I see a lot of groups come here and enjoy the trail, and then they do picnics at the parking lot. The picnic tables here also have these built-in stands for…. bring your charcoal and bring your garbage bags and keep this place clean for everyone to enjoy.
During the winter this park is also busy, people come here for snowshoeing and ski walks. Also, kids come with their sleds. There are a lot of areas for sledding for kids here which my 2 boys enjoy as well.
It is also a very nice and quiet neighborhood…. although when going to this park and using Nottingham Way street, please slow down because there are lots of kids residing in this neighborhood that was playing in the front lawns. Car’s come by fast nowadays.
If you read this message, please pass it on to others to keep these kids safe.
Summer time this park is a great place for bird watching. Today, we saw an owl just right above our heads while playing with our RC Cars.
Great park with lots of trails. There is flat areas if desired, hills, and a stream. We even saw a Barred Owl!
