Located at 951 West Main St, the Ripp Park Dog Exercise Area is a popular dog park in Waunakee, WI, offering a large, open space for your pup to run and play off-leash. This fully fenced, pet-friendly area boasts a main field perfect for energetic dogs, as well as a smaller separate zone ideal for small or older dogs who need a bit more peace. Locals appreciate the ample room to roam and the North Madison vibe, making it a great destination for dog owners seeking outdoor fun.
While basic amenities like benches, clean-up bags, and a trash can are provided, it’s important to note that shade is limited and there are no water fountains on-site—so bring water for your furry friend on warm days. The seating is minimal and lighting is available but not extensive, so visits during daylight hours are best. Despite its simplicity, Ripp Park Dog Exercise Area stands out as a convenient spot for off-leash dog fun in the greater Waunakee area, with easy parking nearby.
We were the only ones there, which is okay because then we ate our food from Asian Garden there and had a picnic all to ourselves.
Very nice little dog park to take your dog and let him run nothing more.
A big open field that is fully fenced in. Lots of room to run. The gates don’t have latches (only tension springs) so I used a bungee cord. Also no bags available and the only trash can is in the parking lot.
My dog absolutely loves the space, even when he loses the ball because he’s a bit derpy. HUGE area, bags are available for your dog if they go to the bathroom, a single garbage can is available to throw your poo bags away. If I had any complaints, there’s a pretty big lack of shade, some sort of shading would be lovely (like, a tarp or some such) and seating is limited. I’d also recommend putting in a small dog and large dog area so that small dogs won’t get trampled by bigger pups.
A good dog park. There is a large main area and a smaller secondary area for small and old dogs. Both are fully fenced in. It is rare for more than one group to be in the small area at a time. There is no water provided, but clean up bags are. You have to leave the dog area to throw away the bags. There are a couple trees and benches. A couple lamp posts too, but they do not light much of the park. It is still very dark at night.
