Grand Rogue Park offers beautiful wide and flat pet-friendly trails near the Rogue River, making it an inviting space for dog lovers seeking dog-friendly hiking and peaceful nature observation in Belmont, Michigan. The large open spaces and grassy trails provide lots of room for you and your pup to explore. Local anglers also enjoy fishing in the several ponds on the property, with reports of sizable catches.
While portions of the park are under development and may feel rustic or muddy, especially in the mornings or after rain, many visitors appreciate its serene environment and scenic riverside views. Ample parking is available, and the park is considered easy for all activity levels. Please be aware some areas may be wet or messy, and there is ongoing improvement as the park continues to develop into a premier outdoor destination for both people and their pets.
Biggest gills I ever did seen. Several fishable ponds. Caught a 4lb largemouth bass in the biggest pond. Looking forward to seeing the park finish construction.
Being mostly a cut grass trail, it’s very wet in the morning. My shoes are soaked through and my pup was filthy. The “trail” isn’t bad, nice views of the river and such, just a very dirty trail with the morning dew. Wouldn’t recommend going in the mornings.
This place isn’t really a park yet. It has very weird vibes – just feels like abandoned land with some muddy paths around it. This part of the rogue is really nasty and dirty. Fished here for about an hour and didn’t get a bite. Lots of trash, a dead animal carcass on the path, and the property across the river look pretty sketchy. Definitely has potential to be a great park but I’m not coming back here for a while.
Really well kept. If you head to the left from the parking lot you’ll see Rogue River and then follow it the right to see the Grand River. Wide, flat, trails. Easy for all levels.
Beautiful. A great space to be out in nature and peacefully observe.
