Hedden Park in Mine Hill Township, NJ is a picturesque destination for dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails and outdoor adventures. With a network of hiking paths ranging from easy to moderate, wooded areas that offer plenty of shade, and scenic features like brooks, streams, and a beautiful lake, this park provides a wonderful natural setting for dog walking and outdoor fun.
The park is not only known for its inviting trails but also for its family-friendly amenities including picnic areas, ball fields, grills, and spots to relax lakeside. While not specifically a designated off-leash dog park, the environment is dog-friendly and perfect for leashed walks. Bring the kids along, as there are spots for play, plenty of nature to explore, and wide open spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Hedden Park is a great place to come for a hike, walk, run, bbq, play sports, and have a picnic. You really can’t go wrong coming here and finding somewhere to sit or lay if you’re looking to relax, or adventure through any of the various paths they offer from the hardest being red to the yellow, blue, white and green trails. I highly recommend coming with someone to spend some time socially distanced and getting some fresh air. I love coming here to see the ducks in the little pond and also to hike.
Still a great hidden gem after all these years! From easy walking paths and woodsy trails to picnic areas, the pond and the ball field. Love it here!
Decent trails, moderate difficulties but those are the only positives. Picnic areas and creek areas are loud and filthy with garbage. Cops do not enforce littering. Shame, could have been a great spot overall.
A beautiful park with a nice little trail network. Seriously a gorgeous place to chill out and enjoy nature. So close to central Dover, it has grills and picnic amenities too
Beautiful Park. Plenty of trails to walk on and lots of shade from the trees to enjoy the walk. The brook and streams are clean and clear. Water is cold although I did not go in, although plenty of kids are able to go in and walk around and splash or Wade in some of the deeper parts of the brook. Lots of families here enjoying the day having cookouts birthday parties etc. The lake was also a beautiful sight, places to sit and enjoy the view and take pictures.
