Water’s Edge Park is a beautifully maintained public park set along the stunning bayfront in Corpus Christi, Texas. Popular among local families and pet owners alike, this park offers sweeping waterfront views, plenty of open space, and on-site parking. While not exclusively a dog park, it is renowned for its welcoming, pet-friendly atmosphere and paved trails perfect for dog walks and runs. The park’s scenic location on the bay and easy access to bike/walking trails make it a must-visit for those seeking fresh air with their four-legged companions.
Visitors appreciate the park’s cleanliness and the efforts of the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation staff, who work to keep the area tidy. There are benches throughout the park, making it easy for owners to relax while their pets explore. Restrooms and parking are available for added convenience, although shade is somewhat limited. While dog-specific features like fenced areas or dog water fountains are not mentioned, Water’s Edge Park stands out for its waterfront setting, spacious green lawns, and dog-friendly ambiance along Corpus Christi’s Shoreline Blvd.
I love this park and the beauty of it. The Parks and Recreation staff was out keeping it all cleaned. It was very beautiful weather and the traffic was calm. I am glad the tables were small and quaint.
We love coming to this park to feed the birds. We really enjoy seeing the mama birds carry multiple pieces of food off to their youngin’s. Of course, before the bigger bully seabirds come & usually haggle the food away from them. There needs ti be pooper scoopers for people with pets. Like one of those trash bag things you can get when your dog poops in the grass. When this happens I’ll change this to 5 stars. Overall, we have a great time here, there’s a cute little park for children as well along with places to sit and eat or have a picnic at. A public bathroom
Would be nice too, I know there’s some at the next park over tho.
Very very clean. Great place to take your kids. Only downside is homeless people taking up all the tables with only 1 out 8 being used by visitors. They don’t bother anyone they just inconvenience the public by not allowing use of the picnic tables. Great parking and fairly clean restrooms.
This is a pretty park situated right by the Bay. Nice views and electric scooters for reny. A bike / walking trail runs by it. Not much shade anywhere. There’s parking available.
I’m going to say some things that I don’t see anyone else saying. This place is starting to fall apart and I know the city knows because the items are removed. Even when I was there they were removing one of the basketball backdrops that had broken glass. Come on guys …can you not have nice things? This is one playground that has equipment that is more motor driven and helps the kids practice their balancing skills. It’s not like all of the other playgrounds in town that’s just slides and some climbing places. If you want to get to the slide you have to work for it. There’s also more benches here than a lot of the parks and if you know how to use it..some stationary adult exercise equipment. The main feature of course is the bay breeze and view. Though items are breaking, it is being actively maintained. There are also restrooms nearby which is not a common feature with most playgrounds.
