Beautiful older park with a pavilion with 8 picnic style aluminum tables with built-in bench seats. There is also a volleyball Pit with a brand new net. There is also a full court basketball court with nylon nets.

There are an array of majestic trees that provide ample shade in the park. You can also walk the trails that will take you to Doctors Park; with two trails branching off the main trail. If you love walking among nature through the woods, then you must walk the trails.

The only things I did not like was the road leading into the park has numerous unsafe potholes. So driving into the main area is dirt and dust. The park also lacks an barbecue pit or grill for those who would like to enjoy the beauty while enjoying a freshly cooked burger right off the grill. I would presume that people bring their own grills.

It appears the town is either to lazy or to cheap to fill in the potholes with some crushed stones. This place at one time was the Hackettstown Fishery. If you walk 100 yards from the Pavillion you’ll see the “ponds”. Some still have water in them; but most of them are dried up.

To use the Pavalliin you need a permit that is issued by the Hackettstown Recreation Department.

Enjoy and be safe.

We go for walks all the time (not so much in the winter) and play Pokémon Go while we are at it. It’s a nice park to walk around in, very peaceful trials.

Nice park to walk at. Usually pretty empty and you can choose between open area or the wooded area. Wish they would do something about the geese.
