Corwin S. Ruge Memorial Park in Wright City, Missouri is a well-loved community space offering pet-friendly trails and a peaceful, scenic atmosphere for visitors and their canine companions. With its shaded walking paths, mature trees, and serene setting at the edge of town, this park is a favorite spot for local dog owners looking for dog-friendly hiking or a relaxing stroll. Visitors appreciate the sense of safety, with local police keeping an eye on the area, and families enjoy the presence of multiple play areas for children.
The park features a paved walking trail ideal for dog walking, open green spaces, creeks, and ample natural shade – making it comfortable for pets even during warmer weather. While the park offers amenities like baseball fields and playgrounds, it may lack some specific dog park features such as dedicated fenced areas or off-leash sections. Still, it remains a great public park destination for both exercise and relaxation for you and your dogs in Wright City.
I love this park! My kids and I go for walks here at least 3x a week! They have a nice trail, baseball fields, 2 playgrounds (no swings though), bathrooms, and a creek.
This park is in a nice location on the edge of town. It really needs some attention though. The amenities have been in need of attention for quite some time. The ball fields are substandard and lack a lot of hard work, and made a lot of attention. I need to be releveled and the outfield’s need a lot of attention as there are several holes that can be dangerous for players. I really wish the city would take notice that we need to take better care of what we had before they try to put money into something like soccer field. I know the city of lost a lot of ball players due to the fact that the fields are so outdated and subpar. With a little attention to the rest of the park you can be a very pretty place to go.
Two stars is very generous. Bathrooms are always locked. If you’re team has a game here bring a lawn mower. It gets two stars only because the playground equipment has been replaced from the broke dilapidated one from last year. I understand this is one of the poorest cities in the area, and it definitely looks it.
My mother-in-law lives in Troy, which by Rt. J is only 11 miles from Wright City. We have a large service dog, and when visiting Wright City I take my dog for a walk here. I’ve also taken my grandson here. There are two play areas for kids, nice shade and nice trees and shade. My dog loves it. Very nice park. I really like it.
Very peaceful. Nice walk path. Very pretty. Lots of equipment for the kiddies to play on. Our Wright City police officers always keep an eye on the park. They do a great job and I always feel secure there.
