Behnke Memorial Dog Park is a popular pet-friendly destination conveniently located in Mt Clemens, Michigan. Known for its wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, the park welcomes dogs and their owners to a spacious, fenced area perfect for play, socializing, and off-leash adventures. Whether you’re looking for a spot to let your dog run free or connect with other local pet lovers, Behnke offers an inviting and well-maintained environment.
The park features plenty of shaded areas, benches, and picnic tables, making it comfortable for both dogs and owners all year round. Water hoses and numerous bowls are available to keep your dog hydrated, and waste bags make it easy to keep the park clean. While the park does not have a separate area for small or large dogs, it’s known for its friendly, respectful community—owners are encouraged to visit during quieter times if they have smaller or timid pups.
You get what you give here. Be respectful of the other dogs, humans and the land, you’ll be ok. If your dog is mean, do NOT bring it to a dog park please. Don’t forget to pick up after your pooch!
My dog loves going here. The dogs are always a blast and she has so much fun. They have tons of water dishes that you can fill to give your dog fresh water. They have a water hose for that.
They have bags for you to pick up after your dog, too. I rarely see poop that is left there, most people are quick to clean up after their dogs. There is a lot of shade, too. The best time is to go in the evening, when they are most busy!
Love this place! We don’t have a fenced in backyard, or multiple dogs. So we try and bring our pup to this dog park every weekend. He always has an amazing time. All of the people and their pets are super friendly! ❤
Easy access nice space for play, throw a ball, space for your dog to run around, didn’t Have any big issues you may run into a dog that is more of a dominance that can a little annoying the pet owners for the most part kept control of there pets, I didn’t see any waist on the ground that was nice, glad owners are cleaning up after. Bring water, they have benches and a small cover seat area as well.
Haven’t had a bad experience yet. The people and dogs have all been nice. If you have small dogs/small puppies that are not used to, or are scared of, larger dogs, beware that there is no separate space for them. If that applies to you, you may want to visit during a non-busy time to ensure the best experience for your fur-baby.
