This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The host, Jim is very nice, willing to make sure you are taken care of. The room was just perfect! I would love to stay here again.

We stay here every time we’re in the UP. Gorgeous hotel and motel, excellent service, and they provide pastries and coffee in the morning. I’m excited to go again once the dining room is open! We had dinner in town one night and felt like we were intruding.

Our group of four couples stayed at the Birch Lodge for a snowmobiling weekend in early February. We all were extremely impressed with the Birch Lodge! The service was exceptional from beginning to end. There was more than enough room for us to park our four trailers. Our rooms were clean and beautifully decorated right down to the smallest detail. We all said our beds were so cozy! We hope to get back to the Birch Lodge sometime in the summertime. What a treasure!

This place is gorgeous, tucked away in a small town for a lovely getaway. The amenities are thoughtful. The only downside were the freshly hatched mosquitoes, but that’s what I get for going in late spring. The owner is kind and helpful, and offered to refund one night’s stay because I had a personal situation force me to leave early.
**Update: the owner has ghosted me about the refund. So I am out a night’s stay, despite notifying and leaving well before check out, day one. Was the kind and helpful demeanor just fake? Or has he not seen the email I sent weeks ago…? I may never know. Removing some stars, maybe he’ll see this.**

If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and recharge, this place is amazing. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and have various places to sit and relax as you listen to the sound of birch trees’ leaves rustling in the wind, and the chirp of the birds in the nearby pine trees. The bed is very comfortable with luxurious bedding, and they provide soft lush towels in the bathroom. Jim was very attentive and friendly.
