Lincoln Park Dog Park is a popular dog park in Aurora, Illinois, offering a spacious, securely fenced area where dogs can run off-leash and socialize. Conveniently located at 259 S Russell Ave, this local favorite brings together dog owners thanks to its welcoming community vibe and maintained grounds. Owners appreciate the well-constructed chain-link fencing that covers nearly the entire perimeter, ensuring your pet’s safety while they play freely. The park features separate areas for both large and small dogs, catering to pets of all sizes and temperaments.
Dog owners can relax at the numerous benches and picnic tables available, placed throughout both shaded and open areas. Fresh drinking water is nearby, with water fountains and doggie bowls provided just outside the dog area. While recent tree removals have temporarily reduced midday shade, new trees have been planted to restore this feature over time. The park is known for its cleanliness, friendly visitors, and large open space that provides plenty of room for dogs to roam and families to connect, making it an excellent destination year-round for Aurora’s pet-loving community.
I’ve been taking my dog here consistently for about 3 almost 4 months now and I highly recommend bringing your dog here! Everyone is very friendly
Took my little guy here and it was awesome! He is a quarantine puppy so he has not had much exposure to other dogs and can be a bit stand-offish towards others. All of the dogs there were so friendly to him and tolerant of his nose scrunching and growling lol! All of the dog owners that were at the park were very friendly too. Very welcoming park to bring your pups to! Big field to run around and a nice area with picnic tables. Duke was grinning from ear to ear after leaving!
A little large for my taste, but nice and currently clean. Just a pain in the butt to chase your dog down at the end of the day, when they don’t want to leave. Large woodchip area currently lacking in tree shade due to the removal of the two largest trees on the east end of the woodchip area.
Pluses :
– There is a water fountain just outside the fenced in dog area, there is a dog dish fountain, also.
– There are two large areas, one for big dogs and one for small dogs.
– There’s a couple of benches and around 10 picnic tables in the center of the big dog area.
– Big dog area has some large trees in the middle of the dog park, there are a few small trees planted in the field area.
– Nice chainlink fence that looks like it was put up correctly. Gates work and assembled well.
– There are a few water bowls scattered in the shaded area.
– There is at least one port-a-potty near the main gate.
Minuses :
– Recently took down two of the main shade trees in the middle of the dog park… but have since planted another 8 trees… so will take a while before that middle area has shade in the mornings again. The sun can be pretty brutal around noon.
– There is limited parking near the dog park entrances.
First time bringing my daughter ‘s dog to this park because I was dog sitting lol I come to this park on occasion for walks ! The doggie area for your pets is fenced in clean spaces and have seating for you while you’re pet enjoy themselves ! The day I was there we had the doggie area to ourselves and had a blast! Note the doggie area has separate areas for large dogs and smaller dogs!
We Absolutely love this Dog Park as it brings everyone together. It is an amazing place to meet other families as our little Pumpkin loves to Play ball, running freely with out restrictions. I love how it’s 99.99% Fenced all Around, keeping our one year old protected from the outside dangers and keeping HER SAFE INSIDE.
There is more than enough seating for us all and everything is well maintained so I would recommend this Place to anyone that is reading this as you have a common interest and made it this far so check it out and take the little one to meet new friends.
