Lions Park is a local favorite in Lewiston, Michigan, known for its clear, cool water and welcoming picnic atmosphere. The park features a beach area, snack shack with burgers and ice cream, picnic tables, and a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot. Families enjoy the safe, shallow swimming area and good amenities for kids.
However, it’s important to note that this park does not allow dogs at all—even on leash or for service animals. For those looking for pet-friendly parks or dog-friendly hiking in Lewiston, Lions Park, unfortunately, isn’t the right spot. The park is clean at times, but some visitors mention issues with occasional trash and crowded weekends.
Very clean beach with clear, cool water.
Dirty park, beach and bathroom. Trash all over the sand in the park. Bathroom filthy. Won’t be back. Yuck.
Shallow, safe, clean, snack shack with burgers, chips, ice-cream and drinks. Beautiful
Looked like a nice park. Stopped in January, and saw the sign No Dogs Allowed. Won’t be back in the summer. I understand it’s a small park, but, no dogs? Not even with a leash rule?
It was pretty but super crowded and SOOOO windy. Beautiful views but also a bit small. Parking was okay. Beach was pretty clean. The NO DOGS ALLOWED rule kinda ruined it because service dogs on leashes should be allowed to enjoy everywhere outside. Won’t be returning personally but is a nice “beach” for a small town.
