Nestled just off the beaten trail in New Buffalo, Sari Asher Memorial Dog Park offers a quiet, peaceful escape for dogs and their owners looking for an off-leash adventure. This pet-friendly dog park in New Buffalo, Michigan, features two spacious, fenced-in areas with grassy grounds perfect for big running sessions, as well as plenty of green space for walks and leg stretches. Follow the distinctive blue dog paw markers from the parking lot, and enjoy the park’s mulched path for easy access.
The main fenced area includes benches, a covered shelter providing some welcome shade, and a water fountain for both people and pets. Free to access (with a donation box for contributions), the park offers Mutt Mitts for convenient waste cleanup and has a clean port-a-potty just outside the entrance. Please note that while the large dog area is well-outfitted, the small dog area lacks some amenities like seating, water, or shelter. This welcoming space is wheelchair accessible and also suitable for families with children, making it a local favorite for dog-friendly outings in southwest Michigan.
Love this dog park. Out of the way, quiet, peaceful, a hidden gem. Has two fenced areas with green space in between and around them. Have nice Mutt Mitts to make the less glamorous part of dog ownership cleaner and easier. The large fenced area has a nice shelter and lots of benches and a water fountain for dogs and humans. I like the wide mulched walk way leading to the park.
My dog won’t use the water fountain, the button and rushing water are noisy and scary, but he will drink from the puddle formed by water fountain runoff 🤦
The small/other dog side of the park doesn’t have shelter, seating, or water, so that’s kind of a bummer. Room for improvement.
Free dog park. They have a drop box for donations to help with the maintenance. There is a clean port-a-potty outside. Follow the blue dog paws to find the park and watch for deer. There are 2 fenced in areas.
I Enjoy how there’s no people here I came around 7 o’clock. I have two big dogs. They don’t do the best around other dogs so coming to a park where there is no people or dogs and a super big area is great will be my new spot for sure
Amazingly cute dog park found off the beaten trail. On our way to MI for Thanksgiving and we wanted to get our dog (Roni) some leg stretches and we found this jewel of a location. Love it.
This is by far one of the worst dog parks. Pros: it’s big and it has a water fountain. Cons: It feels like nobody maintains this park. Grass is overgrown, there are holes, poop that owners haven’t picked up. Think twice before taking your dog here.
