Located in the heart of Hayward, WI, Shues Pond Park offers a scenic and pet-friendly atmosphere for both locals and visitors. The park features a picturesque pond, surrounded by beautiful fir trees, making it an excellent spot for dog owners looking for a relaxing stroll or some playtime with their pets. While not a dedicated off-leash dog park, Shues Pond Park is a welcoming space to enjoy pet-friendly trails, a large grassy area, and shaded picnic spots—including a gazebo that provides some shelter from the sun.
The park stands out for its kid-friendly amenities, such as a playground right by the pond and opportunities to observe wildlife like frogs and geese. Dog owners will appreciate the open space and tranquil setting for leashed walks. Please keep in mind that during summer, the presence of geese can lead to increased droppings around paths and grassy areas, so plan accordingly. Whether you’re seeking a scenic walk, a pleasant lunch spot, or a family outing, Shues Pond Park is one of Hayward’s charming outdoor options for dog lovers.
Nice little park in Hayward. The toddler loves the playground, people who stopped by and had kiddos playing were nice as well! There’s some nice shaded spots for a picnic lunch, including a gazebo. The pond is a neat touch as well; several geese swimming around with newly hatched little ones. People were fishing here too… Not like you’re gonna catch a big muskie here…
All summer long you cant walk around because of Goose poop! Unhealthy conditions. Cesspool conditions. Park should be deemed hazardous to pregnant women and children.
Charming little park with a large pond and some playground equipment. Very pretty setting, with fir trees surrounding the park and a gazebo. Nice place to take kids.
Visiting family up here in the area and this is nice small park for kids. The playground is right next to the pond so you do have to watch out. Decent amount of frogs in the pond for kids to look at. Nice small loop around the park and nice area for a picnic too. Great for kids.
Watched the Hayward Veterans Memorial Day Service with my dad across the pond. It was very beautiful and emotional ❤️🇺🇸
