My sister and I no longer have dogs of our own, so while I was up visiting from Kentucky we visited here several times to get our “dog fix”. The park is absolutely beautiful, and all the dogs seemed to thoroughly enjoy the freedom of romping through the brush, along the paths, and in the water. We sat at the picnic table near the entrance and got to greet a wide variety of canines.

Our girls (Nova and Birdie) love this park. Off leash, plenty of room to roam and clean water (Yahara River). It’s definitely a favorite of the humans too – nice trails, nice people, cute dogs – what isn’t there to love?

UPDATE: Just finished up exercising the girls on this very hot/humid morning and wanted to add that there is plenty of shade and places to sit. The water continues to be the cleanest of all Dane County dog parks. We also appreciate the breeze off the the river which helps keep the bugs at bay.
