🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Jean Duluth Dog Park is a popular destination for dog lovers looking for an open, pet-friendly space just outside Duluth, MN. Known for its generous, fully fenced areas for both large and small dogs, the park allows your pup ample room to run, play, and socialize off-leash with other canines. This dog park is considered by many locals to be the best in Duluth, featuring lots of grass, a simple hill for energetic runs, and a welcoming community of regular visitors.
Amenities include free entry, a small parking lot, abundant poop bags, and user-supplied water jugs and bowls. Benches are available for owners, though shade and covered seating are limited, and expect some mud in the spring or after heavy rain. While the small dog area can be quieter, the large dog section is lively and often busy, making it a fantastic spot for social dogs in Duluth. Bring extra water and waste bags to contribute, and get ready to enjoy one of the city’s best spots for off-leash fun!
Best dog park in Duluth… but the bar is very low. It’s not large, but larger than the others. Takes about 5 minutes to walk the circumference. Because it has a hill, people often lose sight of their dogs – meaning there is a larger amount of dog poop than you’ll find at other parks. They don’t maintain the grass – which is nice in some aspects, but it also makes cleaning up dog poop really difficult when you’re trying to scoop it out of foot long grass. It’s also virtually guaranteeing ticks. The same people go every day and spend hours there. Nice if you’re friends, but not so nice if you want to avoid their dogs for whatever reason. LOTS AND LOTS OF MUD in the large dog area. Your dog *WILL* get muddy and it’s very difficult to navigate in the spring.
I don’t know why Duluth – with so many creeks, ponds, lakes, couldn’t carve out a nice walkable dog park with a water feature beyond two large mud puddles. Like maybe we don’t have the land for a Minnehaha Creek-level dog park, but a city this size should be able to do better than this.
Clean, large and nice dog park outside of town. The people are friendly and pleasant and it’s busy every time I go. The big dog section has a dozen or more large (50+ pound) dogs. The small dog section is usually pretty sparse however, but it does exist.
Descent size small dog park. Large one is big! Lots of grass, water bowls, lots of benches, very clean, bag boxes in case you forgot your own. Best one in Duluth I’ve found so far
Nice large areas for large and small dogs. Porta potty is handy. Free to use. Water jugs, bowls, poop bags and shovel available. Parking lot is small for how busy it seems to be and there isn’t much in the way of shade trees and there weren’t any benches for the humans to sit.
My dog loves it. Big park, completely fenced, has a small dog seperation if needed. Users supply water and each other. Bring supplies to fill the stash if you can.
