If you’re searching for a spacious and well-maintained dog park in Mentor, Ohio, the City of Mentor Dog Park is a fantastic local option. Located on Hopkins Road, this dog park offers a huge, grassy field for your pup to run off-leash and socialize with other four-legged friends. With distinct areas for small dogs and all dogs, each section features a small pavilion for shade and benches for pet owners to relax and enjoy their outing.
While there is no full agility course (just one tunnel for play), the park’s open field provides ample space for energetic dogs to romp and play. The park is grass-covered, not wood chips, which many dogs and owners find more comfortable. Note that the park is situated near a railroad track, so trains can sometimes cause brief, loud interruptions. Owners should also check current water availability, and weekends may bring bigger crowds. Regardless, Mentor Dog Park remains a popular, dog-friendly destination perfect for letting your pup burn off some energy in a secure environment.
Too many irresponsible dog owners at this park. Owners that bring their dogs to the park knowing that there’s a good chance their dog will attack another dog. I recommend Canine Meadows in Kirtland. It’s cleaner and much more space for small and large dogs.
There’s no shade and the water has been broken all this year.
Overly wet today, but was still able to kill some time there today. They seemed to like it enough. No other dogs, so that was good
Huge two-sided dog park. Well maintained grass instead of wood chips.
I love taking my dog to this park. It has a humongous field for her to run free. It lacks an agility course, minus one tunnel, but I find those useless. My dog goes to run and play with other dogs. It is the perfect place for that. Each side, small dog and all dogs, has a small pavilion with a picnic bench. Then picnic benches in the field.
The only negative is it is near a rail road track, so it can get loud occasionally.
