Broome Park is a community park located in Flint, Michigan, providing a large open area that is pet-friendly and allows dogs. With wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, Broome Park welcomes both local residents and visitors seeking dog-friendly recreation in Genesee County. The park features athletic fields, including well-maintained baseball diamonds and practice soccer fields, along with a playground and picnic tables, making it a convenient spot for families and their pets.
Unique for its spaciousness and variety of sports facilities, Broome Park offers a good place for leashed walks and playtime, especially if you’re looking for a pet-friendly park with open grassy areas. While dogs are welcome, visitors should be aware that there is no designated dog run or fenced dog area, and it may not be the best choice for off-leash play. The presence of swings, playgrounds, and picnic spots make it a versatile option for both dog owners and families, but it’s recommended to be cautious about personal safety, especially for women and children, given some concerns noted in recent reviews.
It’s a park owned by the City of Flint but it basically only has a Class A baseball ⚾ diamond that’s very nice. A practice ball field. Looks like intramural soccer fields or practice fields. A swing set. That’s about it there’s not a lot to do it’s not like a regular park to play in. At least it’s all mowed and being used by these game fields. I was happy to see this because the last time I went by the grass was 2′ ft tall which was not to many years ago. I was happy to see this large open space being utilized.
Pretty nice local baseball field. Ample bleacher seat, and the facilities are in darn good shape except for some of the bleacher wood is rotted and broken. It’s definitely dangerous in one section. It should be repaired or at least cordoned off.
I’m certainly very thankful and glad that the city has at least tried to provide the neighborhood children with a spot to run around and burn off some excess energy, but if you aren’t from this area, you may want to consider alternatives in a more suburban setting. This park lies in what is currently likely the worst part of Flint nowadays, and that statement should NOT be ignored. The likelihood of a violent crime occurring against, or involuntarily including an innocent and/or defenseless victim is probably 10x more likely to happen to any random person in this area as opposed to other parks, even other parks right here in Flint! This area is by far a safe place to bring your children, especially if you aren’t from Flint and haven’t been around this environment for years and years already! Stay safe everyone!
Nice park in the city of Flint. Has a playground and soccer fields.
It looks nice an good me my husband and kid’s lived across from it for like 6 years but I wouldn’t recommend women or children kid’s to go there without a man because the reason I moved my family was because then women started to come up missing an was found in trash bags at the park it was crazy an so scarry living by there I was scared every time me or my kid’s had to go out side just to be safe I recommend for all children and women to have a man with them at that Park at all time’s safety first y’all
