Centre Barkway is a cozy neighborhood dog park conveniently located at 9696 Flagstone St, Colorado Springs. Tailored for local residents, this dog park offers a secure, fenced area with a double-gated entry for added safety and peace of mind. The park is surfaced with pea gravel to keep your furry friends clean and mud-free, making it an excellent year-round spot for play. While there may be a few burrs present, the park remains a much-loved community asset for off-leash fun and socialization.
Poo bags are provided for dog owners, ensuring a tidy and pleasant environment. There is a specific section for small dogs, equipped with a fun faux hydrant to keep pups entertained. Though the pathway to the park may be a bit challenging and the park is on the smaller side, Centre Barkway remains a valued pet-friendly destination for Colorado Centre residents seeking a safe spot for dogs to run and socialize off-leash.
This is a lovely dog park provided for the CCMD residents. It’s pea gravel so there’s no muddy paws and it’s always clean. The pathway to it isn’t the most accessible but it’s passable and it’s a great item to have for our community, my dogs love it!
We took our small dogs there yesterday for the first time. It is all small gravel, no grass, and tons of sharp burrs. Both of my dogs were limping from burrs in their paws within five minutes, and showed no desire to play or explore the tiny space. The place they’re trying to put a soccer field in is much better as a dog park!
Centre Barkway is a fantastic addition to the growing area of parks under the Colorado Centre. Originally intended to have schools, shopping centers, appartment complexes and more this area died out after the builders and contractors ditched and the housing market tanked. Centre Barkway has everything a small dog park needs. A double gate that acts like a staging area for your pet. A small dog section. A fake hydrant. Doggie poo bags. The one thing it doesNOT have is a clear way to get into this park. You have to either cross the drainage ditch or skirt the small deertrail footpath next to the chain link fence.
