Took my dog there one night after already having taken her to urgent care because her condition got worse. When they told me they recommend she stay the night I was worried because she doesn’t do well with change. But when I arrived the next day I saw how much the staff cared for them as if they are their own pets. She gets very needy and they took their time to spend with her and place her in a red wagon and pull her around the hospital so she wasn’t so lonely ☺️ one day later and she is doing better. I am so thankful a place like this and these people exist!
this review is long overdue but i wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team at VEG Carle Place. My sweet boy, Cooper, who had a heart condition randomly started coughing up blood one day and despite my experience with his episodes, this had never happened before and i froze for the first time ever. i called in and they were so patient with me, advising me and calming me down over the phone, reassuring me that a team would be waiting for him when i arrived. i wasn’t prepared to go home without my best friend of 13 years and i completely broke hearing that he was probably in heart failure for the second time. they were so understanding and supportive and went above and beyond for my boy. it turned out to just be pneumonia which wasn’t the best thing but it was way better than heart failure. they let me stay as long as i wanted, offered snacks and drinks, gave me frequent updates when i went back home to my other pup and when i had to go back to uni for classes. they gave me treatment options and were empathetic of my situation of being a college student living on her own means with her pets. i have so much respect for everything they do every day. it can’t be easy but they handle it with so much grace and strength. these are people who aren’t just doing a job, they truly care about these animals and the people who come in there with their babies. unfortunately, my boy passed two weeks ago but i will never forget the kindness they showed me and my baby those days he was hospitalized, the check ins and rooting for him like he was their own. to matt, thank you for giving me a little bottle of his hair. now that he’s gone, i’ve never cherished something more and you gave me a little piece of him i can remember him by and for that i am eternally grateful. sorry for not remembering everyone’s names but every staff i interacted with and gave me updates was absolutely incredible. thank you for helping my sweet boy in his time of need.
I cannot say enough good things about VEG ER for Pets in Carle Place, NY. Until you have to rush your pet to the ER in the middle of the night, you’ll never understand how traumatic it can be. The staff is PHENOMENAL! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and we were never separated from our cat. In fact, they provided a private waiting room so we could keep him comfortable and relaxed while waiting. They checked in often, provided drinks and snacks and most importantly, they involved us in every single decision along the way. I wish I could name every single person that helped us and offered so much compassion because EVERYONE was amazing, but to name a few, I’d like to personally thank Alexa, Amelia, Brenna, Jessica O., Jamie, Alison and Jessica, G. Your compassion and empathy is so appreciated. And Dr. Cha! Wow! An absolute rockstar. She worked all night doing what she could for everyone there. It was BUSY and yet she still took her time with us and was super kind and knowledgeable. Thank you all!
We were taken off guard when our 2 and 1/2 year old Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel “Kingsley ” had a seizure. We followed up with a vet who said all looked ok but to monitor. Although he was walking around and wagging his tail he was a little less active than usual. The next evening he had breathing issues. We rushed him to VEG. They immediately gave him a songram and were very patient in explaining the issues and possibilities. They had him in an oxygen chamber to monitor overnight. He seemed to be getting better but we recieved a call after an hour had passed that he was vomiting blood and they were doing everything they could to resucitate him. The fact that they wouldnt give up was so amazing to me. He did not make it by the time my family got there as I was caring for my son who was also sick but at least he was in the hands of people who truly cared. It is an amazing place the drs the staff are incredibly compassionate and we felt he was safe there. While excruciatingly painful that Kingsley had MVD and passed so suddenly I will always choose to go to VEG for any pet emergencies!!!!! Blessings!!! Thank you!! Edna Luna aka:Andie
We were on vacation when we received the worst call imaginable that our puppy had gotten out and been hit by a car. The compassionate, knowledgeable, and caring staff helped us to get through this experience. They took her in immediately and helped stabilize her and get her the care she needed. They continued to monitor and care for her until she was ready to come home. They kept us updated and informed the whole time. Being able to call them at anytime and come visit our puppy whenever we wanted brought some comfort during a really hard time. We are so so thankful to VEG and would 110% recommend this vet ER to anyone.
