Located conveniently at 45th Rd. & 21st St, this park features a dedicated dog park area where dogs can play and socialize, providing a much-needed urban retreat for local dog lovers. The playground’s refreshing use of space and industrial design make it stand out in the heart of the city, and ample seating ensures comfort for pet parents while their pups have fun.
In addition to the dog run, Murray Playground offers a variety of activities like basketball and handball courts, a children’s playground, and fields for sports, making it great for families. There are restrooms (though upkeep may occasionally vary), water fountains to keep dogs and owners hydrated, and plenty of shaded spots for a relaxing visit. Great park for some sports. Plenty of field. Basketball courts. Handball courts. Children’s playground and a dog park! I enjoy watching the dogs run and play with each other. They truly live life in the moment. We can learn from them:) there a coffee shop and other stores across the street. If you get hungry, you can pick something up and sit in the bench area.
Looks like it’s in pretty good condition with drinking fountains too. I don’t have kids so I’m not rating it from a parent’s perspective. Seems like there a tiny bit more upkeep.
Seems like a nice park with a playground and restrooms.
Refreshing use of space and catchy industrial designs. Located in the Belly of the Beast which is modern Long Island City, yet mercifully distant from the worst of that urban jungle. The playground equipment is in good repair, and the sprinklers are especially refreshing in the summer. Bathrooms were functional during this review. Free wi-fi (if you trust New York City’s government enough to let it plant cookies on your device). Ample seating for the supervising parents.
Love the park but come on now, men restroom has been out for weeks and no one bothers to fix it for us men but you have the women’s restroom fix and prepare. May I say this to NYCParks, you have employee that should be able to fix problems. But instead, employees are in the staff room watching TV ? That’s super lame 😒
