Hermon A. MacNeil Park is a scenic destination located on a peninsula in College Point, New York, offering panoramic water views, especially of the Whitestone Bridge and LaGuardia Airport. While this park is not a dedicated dog park, it is pet-friendly and popular among local dog owners. Visitors often spot dogs enjoying the large, grassy areas and trails alongside their owners, especially around the baseball field area after 7 pm. The park features pet-friendly trails and paved woods walks, making it a great spot for dog-friendly hiking.
The park’s amenities include a playground, clean restrooms (though they may not always be open), benches, green spaces, and a baseball field. Street parking is available nearby, and the park tends to be busiest on weekends, so arriving early is recommended. Hermon A. MacNeil Park is ideal for anyone seeking a quiet stroll, jog, picnic, or some time outdoors with their four-legged friends while taking in beautiful waterfront scenery.

Great park on a peninsula jutting into the Sound with close views of LaGuardia airport. It is a site of the former Chisholm mansion and estate, acquired by NYC in 1930 to become a public park. Street parking only, but it wasn’t an issue on summer weekend morning (park is popular, so better to come early). Restrooms were open and clean, lots of fishermen along the esplanade, busy playground.
Good combination of green space, meadow, paved woods trail and walk with water views. Packs plenty of features for relatively small acreage.
