Love this park for walking pups or running around with my son. Beautiful views and lots of space to sit privately. I love being close to the water and often hike the rocks to the tip of the canal and back with pups. Just keep an eye out for puppy chases off leashes. It IS a dog park as much as locals dont want to admit it. Poop every where if u walk towards the water. Stay by the benches and kids are poop free.
I love this park. Every warm day me and my family spend time here. It is kids and dogs friendly park, what else do you want? My son loves spending time for finding stones from the river. There is plenty of space here for picnic.
A very interesting area from a historic perspective. It remains a real shame that both here and up in Syracuse they chose to fill in and not better preserve the remnants of their canal history, beyond these now faded interpretive signs. At mid- to low tide there is a rocky beach where paddlers can carefully take their boards or kayaks out.
