Lake Lois Trailhead is a hidden gem for dog owners seeking peaceful, pet-friendly trails in Lacey, WA. This scenic park offers shaded paths surrounded by birds and natural beauty, perfect for leisurely walks with your furry friend. Although not a traditional fenced dog park, it’s an ideal spot for dog-friendly hiking and enjoying the outdoors with your pet.
The park is known for its quiet atmosphere and multiple secret entrances, including a discreet gravel parking area for a handful of vehicles at the trailhead, easy access from Woodland Creek Community Park, and a path off Pacific Ave near Safeway. While there are benches near the entrance and ample shade along the trails, there are no restrooms or dedicated dog amenities like water fountains or waste stations, so plan accordingly. Lake Lois is a wonderful park to explore for those looking for tranquil dog walks on the south end of Puget Sound.
Nice peaceful small trails
A hidden City Of Lacey park that is beautiful but made very difficult to access unless you live along 6th street (which doesn’t even have a road shoulder to safely walk along). It’s paid for and maintained with your tax money though so come check it out and enjoy!
Three secret entrances to the park:
(1) At the trailhead there is a gravel parking area big enough for about 5 cars (and the benches to sit on are near the trailhead entrance if you go to your right at the lake).
(2) At Woodland Creek Community Park there is plenty of parking and across Pacific Ave there is a bus stop with a wooden sign next to it (the trail entrance is hidden next to the sign).
(3) A two minute walk from Safeway on the sidewalk along Pacific Ave when you have almost reached the abandoned house you will see a wide trail entrance with a rock wall on one side and only a sign that says “No Camping” and that will get you in as well.
Quiet. Lots of birds, lake was low. Plenty of shade. No bathrooms or parking.
