A forested gem minutes from the capital. Also a great historical back story.

Watershed park is mostly quiet and offers a fresh scent of forest of old growth and new growth with a peaceful small creek running through the middle of the trail loop. Thankfully, there are a good number of viewing areas to the water. The trail itself isn’t long, but there are lots of hills and steps. I felt very safe moving along the trail, even when we needed to move over for other pedestrians.
I only wish there were more benches for people to sit and enjoy the trickle of the creek.
Not stroller or wheel chair friendly but very dog friendly.

The most beautiful place in Olympia. I’d actually rather you not come visit so it’s a secret and there are less people on the trails 😉

Nice trail to walk, just amongst some of the roads in Olympia. Nice creek that runs through, sometimes wanting to take over your path. Lots of veggitation. Does have some up hill parts, but is a pretty easy walk. Enjoyed seeing some owls there, harassing a Robin. Ya know.

My friend and I went to this park for a good walk and got over 5,000 steps in that day! Great sights and lots of elevation to build those strong legs. I recommend packing water and snacks as it is more of a hiking trail and includes many slopes and narrow passages. Excellent views and highly recommend for a refreshing day out in nature.
