Definitely worth the drive. I’m a Floridian and I tried to go up top first and spooked myself with heights lol went back down and hit up the waterfall and it was so nice. People were swimming and picnicking along the trail. Very nice
When we went it was quite crowded and the space is rather small. Not much to look at, just a mediocre water fall.
We went before noon on a weekday, and there was already a lg. family at the falls.
We passed four hikers on the way that were already on their way out. When we were leaving, we encountered someone with a horse on that little trail!😂 The falls was really nice this time of year, i’m sure it gets down to a trickle by the end of summer though.
This hike is a short, yet beautiful glimpse into Nature’s brilliance. As you navigate a mostly linear trail, brimming and branching with the promise of a side quest or three. What looks like a simple .6 mile trek can become a crash course in freestyle rock climbing very quickly. You could ascend to such great heights. Peek into the many cave openings in the great canyon walls, or pit stop at the swimming hole under a waterfall surrounded by impressive, jutting stone walls. Tread on more challenging terrain or keep it family oriented. Canyon adventure with swimming hole and plenty of different paths to explore. I give it a hard 5.
We went here for an easy Sunday hike but more like a fun walk and a picnic dinner. My teenage boys had a great time exploring. The waterfall was pretty and it was a perfect evening. Be aware that there is poison ivy in this area so we were sure to not touch any vegetation. There were families with small children and the kiddos were able to do the walk to the waterfall.
