The Dog Park Vacation Home is nothing short of perfect! The setting is serene and beautiful. The amenities are plentiful and the attention to detail, especially for our canine companions, left nothing to account. The bathroom was super clean, as was the well-stocked kitchen. And the secure, fenced area is a dog’s dream. On top of that, we got to visit the adjacent farm sanctuary and meet all of the precious rescued residents, like Willow the friendly pig, Bucky and Baker, the “puppy” goats, and Zeek and Zephyr – the BIGEST COWS I’VE EVER SEEN! Their story is enduring, as are that of all the others’. Visit this place! You will take home memories for a lifetime!!

Loved staying here. This was our second time staying here. First time was NYE this time was the 4th of July. It has a private dog park area where pups can play. There are the rescue farm animals but kept away from the area so dogs aren’t seeing them and freaking out. Also, the owners are dog people so they are very respectful and if they need to come by, such as to pick you up for treat time (optional but do it, the animals are amazing) they make sure to try to avoid disturbing the dogs. The optional treat time in the farm to meet the animals and feed was amazing. Beautiful animals, property, and owners. There are two gates to avoid dogs or any other animals possibly getting out just like a dog park. The entire area is fenced in so perfect for dogs. The house has everything we needed and seems to be well furnished. It’s very dog focused and something I would build for myself if I could. Every year we try to escape fireworks for our dogs and get some privacy and this place is perfect and somewhere we hope to go to again for the third time in the future. We always try to get away from the city on Firework holidays and this is becoming our go-to. It’s not firework free area i mean it’s USA right (NYE was but not 4th of July) but it’s spread out properties and neighbors aren’t up all night celebrating so it’s much more quiet then some parts of CLT on those holidays. But please, dont book those dates cause it’s becoming a tradition for us… I almost worry saying how great it was because we don’t want it to possibly be booked when we want to go, but the owners, location, house, etc are all amazing and hope many others get to enjoy in the future. 10/10 Property and Owners.

This place is so beautiful! If you’re tired of all the anger, and division in the world right now, escape to this lovely sanctuary and spend time with the animals. It restores your faith in what really matters. Fabulous private, house with all the amenities for humans and for dogs, with a huge, safe, fenced dog yard attached. Wonderful tours through the peaceful sanctuary, and a great time petting and feeding all the sweet animals that live there. This is just the thing for kids of ALL ages!
We really loved our time there.

A truly heartwarming experience. From the beginning the owners were warm, accommodating and genuine. The house was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The back deck and walkway to your own large fenced in area was perfect for the dogs to run and play. Loved hearing each animals story and after an initial tour we were able to come and go, spending time with the animals at our leisure. We loved every moment and highly recommend this experience for everyone

Mountain views, well equipped small home and a secure fenced area for the dogs to run and enjoy life! The best is a few feet away at the Changing Hearts Farm Sanctuary. You get to mingle with Daphne the goat, Jazzy the Pig (my dog fell in love) Lily and Song the horses and so many others. These are all animals that would have been cast away and given up on by anyone else, but here at Changing Hearts, a place run on a very short shoestring by Rick and his wife, they are saved, loved and well cared for! I highly recommend a stay at the Dog Park Vacation Home. It would be a great spot for a wedding! Reach out to Rick, he was a great host !!
