Dog Park in Corolla, North Carolina

If you’re searching for a dog-friendly space on the Outer Banks, the Dog Park at 1160 Franklyn St in Corolla is a welcome spot for pet owners. This no-frills, fenced dog park offers an essential off-leash area for pups to run and play, which is a big relief for local and visiting dog owners alike—especially considering it’s the only dog park within a 40-minute drive in Corolla.

Designed with pet safety in mind, the park features vertical fencing supports that make it more difficult for dogs to jump over. Shade from trees provides some relief during hot North Carolina days, but do be aware of “thorn balls” that occasionally drop from the trees. While there isn’t an obvious double-gated entry, the fenced perimeter ensures dogs can play off-leash. The park is close to maintenance areas, so watch for construction materials and “hitchhiker thorns” along the path leading in.

A no frills dog park, but completely needed. Closest park with a 40min drive so no complaints from me.

Poorly planned & maintained dog park. Have to walk through maintenance building area with construction materials & “hitchhiker thorns” all around. No identifiable path that leads to park. No vestibule/double gate enter/exit. No shade other than some trees that drop thorn balls. Spent more time picking the thorn ball off dog then time spent running around.

So grateful for this dog park. Our foxhound cannot run free on the beach due to prey drive/distraction, and loves playing with other dogs. Great thinking to have only vertical supports on the fences and gate-makes it more difficult for dogs to jump over! Thank you!❤️
