Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Discover Maple Park & Maple Dog Park, a beautiful and spacious destination for dog lovers in Barco, North Carolina. Located just 4 miles from downtown Elizabeth City and close to the Currituck Family YMCA, this pet-friendly park is the perfect spot to let your pups burn off some energy. With scenic walking paths, plenty of shaded areas, and a large pond nearby, it’s ideal for those looking for dog-friendly hiking trails or a peaceful outing with their furry friends.
The dog park at Maple Park offers two fully fenced dog runs: one for small dogs and another for large dogs, ensuring a safe environment for all breeds and sizes. Families will enjoy amenities such as picnic tables, gazebos, covered seating areas, and a playground with padded ground for kids. While there are public restrooms and wheelchair accessible entrances and parking, visitors should bring their own water for their dogs, as no dog water fountains are available. The park is well maintained and features the unique bonus of watching small planes take off from the nearby runway!
I come here often to enjoy all of the amenities such as the dog park, playground and local paths. It’s a beautiful location and even cool with watching planes take off and land. You can rent the large sitting Area for events!
Nice, big park with a half decent skate park. Unfortunately you have more creative options and fun to be had at the nearby Sound Park, Enfield, and Fun Junktion to name a few which leaves you wondering how or why they dropped the ball here. It would be better if they added a rail, stair set, fun box, or something besides just this odd ramp to ledge design with a bowl behind it. The bowl would’ve also been infinitely more awesome if they had simply added a loop instead of just a tunnel to enter it. Over all, not a bad park but weak in comparison to the others.
… approximately 4 miles from downtown Elizabeth City near the Currituck Family YMCA…nice area to relax and let the pups run out some energy. Pond, Dog Park, Picnic Tables and areas for walking!
This is a really nice dog park and it’s well taken care of. There is a runway RIGHT next to the park, so you can watch small plans take off and land.
The only bad thing is there is NOT any water for your dog, so bring some with you if it’s hot outside.
This is a hidden treasure of a park- there is so much space! Lots of shaded areas as well as 2 fenced dog runs. One for small dogs & one for large dogs. There are 3 gazebos and LOTS of geese (not too much goose poo) and it’s nestled against a large pond. There is a grand kid playground with padded ground and a picnic area with picnic tables and a covered eating/socializing area. I have only gone to walk around my Yoshi pup and this was his last outing 😭 we lost him to a car about a week after I took these photos with him and my son. I miss him so badly but it is such a good place to make memories with your kids or fur babies. I’m at a loss but wanted to post these last photos I have of him. Rest peacefully my perfect fur baby Yoshi- I love you like no other!!!!
